How Objectives (OKRs) Work in Enforcium
Understanding Objectives in Enforcium
Objectives define the result a company or team wants to achieve, establish ownership, and connect that goal to measurable outcomes and the work required to reach them.
For example, a company plans to enter a new market.
- Objective
- Launch the company in the German market
The Objective sets the direction. To measure whether it has been achieved, you can add measurable Key Results and create Tasks for the work required to reach them.
This creates a clear structure where the team can see the goal, expected results, owners, and the work that supports the outcome.
Creating an Objective
To create a new Objective, open Goals → Objectives (OKRs) and click New Objective.
You can define:
- Objective: The name of the goal
- Description: Context and the expected outcome
- Priority: High, Medium, or Low
- Ownership: Participants assigned according to RACI
- Timeline: The period covered by the Objective
- Visibility: Who can view the Objective
For example:
- Objective
- Launch the company in the German market
- Description
- Successfully launch operations in Germany and create the foundation for acquiring the first customers in the new market.
Once the Objective is created, you can save it immediately or keep it as a Draft while it is still being reviewed.
Managing Objective Visibility
Some Objectives are relevant to the entire company, while others are specific to a team or group.
When creating an Objective, you can choose who can access it:
- Only participants — The Objective is visible to its participants.
- Department — The Objective is available to employees in the selected department.
- Company — The Objective is visible to everyone in the company.
For example, the strategic goal Launch the company in the German market can be visible to the entire company when Marketing, Sales, Product, and Operations are involved in achieving it.
A team level Objective appears in the department of the person whose role is assigned as Responsible.
Assigning Ownership
Objectives use the RACI model to define the role each participant plays:
- Responsible — Carries out the work required to achieve the Objective.
- Accountable — Has overall responsibility for the result.
- Consulted — Provides input and helps with decisions.
- Informed — Keeps track of progress and the final result.
For example, the roles for Launch the company in the German market could be:
- Responsible
- Market Expansion Lead
- Accountable
- COO
- Consulted
- Head of Marketing, Head of Sales
- Informed
- CEO
This gives everyone a clear understanding of their role in achieving the Objective.
Adding Key Results
Each Objective can have one or more Key Results.
Key Results define the measurable outcomes used to evaluate progress toward the Objective.
For example:
- Objective
- Launch the company in the German market
- Key Results
- Generate 100 qualified leads from GermanySign 10 new customers in GermanyReach €50K in new market revenue
The Key Results tab and the number of Key Results are shown at the bottom of the Objective card. From there, you can review existing results or create a new one using New Key Result.
Progress across Key Results contributes to the overall progress of the Objective. This gives the team a clear view of both the expected outcomes and how much has been achieved.
Connecting Tasks to an Objective
You can also connect Tasks to an Objective. Tasks represent the specific work required to move the goal forward.
For a German market launch, Tasks could include:
- Research the market and competitors
- Localize the website
- Prepare a go to market campaign
- Launch acquisition channels
- Prepare materials for the Sales team
The structure could look like this:
- Objective
- Launch the company in the German market
- Key Result
- Generate 100 qualified leads from Germany
- Tasks
- Localize landing pages, prepare campaigns, launch acquisition channels
The Objective defines where the team is going. Key Results define what results need to be achieved. Tasks define the work required to get there.
Tracking Objective Progress
The Objective card provides a quick overview of its current state:
- Overall progress
- Status
- Deadline
- Participants
- Number of Key Results
- Number of Tasks
- Number of Comments
Objectives can have the following statuses: Drafts, Active, In Review, Completed, Canceled, Failed, and Trash.
You can also filter Objectives by progress status: At Risk, On Track, or Off Track.
This makes it easier to identify Objectives that need attention without opening them individually.
Viewing Objective Details
Click the Objective name to open its Overview.
The Overview contains detailed information about the goal, including its description, progress, participants, timeline, Key Results, Tasks, Comments, and other Objective settings.
For example, a manager can open Launch the company in the German market and review its progress, check which Key Results have already been achieved, and see which Tasks are still in progress.
Editing an Objective
To edit an Objective, open it and click Edit, or select Edit OKR from the ⋮ menu.
From the same menu, you can:
- Add a Key Result
- Add a Task
- Delete the Objective
The Objective status can also be changed directly from the card.
For discussions about progress, decisions, or changes, the team can use Comments. This keeps relevant context alongside the Objective.
